Accountant
Job Summary:
An Accountant is responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing financial records and statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts to support business decisions.
4. Auditing and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations, and participate in audits as needed.
5. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and credit card statements.
6. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
7. Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing tax returns and other tax-related documents.
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
3. Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate accounting department.
4. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Industry Experience: Experience in a specific industry, such as healthcare or finance.
3. Advanced Certifications: Advanced certifications, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
4. Leadership Experience: Leadership experience, including supervising staff or leading projects.
