Assistant Professor
Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct research, and engage in departmental and university service. The ideal candidate will have a strong research agenda, excellent teaching skills, and a commitment to departmental and university service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department, including lectures, seminars, and laboratories.
2. Research: Conduct original research in the field, publish scholarly articles, and secure external funding.
3. Service: Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, advising, and community outreach.
4. Mentoring: Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
5. Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development and assessment.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Ph.D. in the relevant field.
2. Research Experience: Demonstrated research expertise in the field.
3. Teaching Experience: Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience.
2. Funding: Demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
3. Diversity and Inclusion: Experience working with diverse populations and promoting diversity and inclusion.
