Assistant Professor
Job Summary
We are seeking an outstanding scholar and educator to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic mission of the department through teaching, research, and service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department, including lectures, seminars, and laboratories.
2. Research: Conduct original research in the field, publish scholarly articles, and present research at conferences.
3. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, advising, and mentoring.
4. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and revision of curricula, including course development and assessment.
5. Student Mentoring: Advise and mentor students, including undergraduate and graduate research projects.
6. Departmental Citizenship: Participate in departmental meetings, events, and activities, and contribute to the overall mission of the department.
Requirements
1. Ph.D.: Earned Ph.D. in the relevant field or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Demonstrated teaching experience, including experience with course development and instruction.
3. Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience, including publications and presentations.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
5. Commitment to Diversity: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience.
2. Funding Experience: Experience with grant writing and funding.
3. Interdisciplinary Research: Experience with interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
4. Teaching Awards: Teaching awards or recognition.
5. Leadership Experience: Leadership experience, including experience with departmental or university service.
