Assistant Professor

Job Summary:

An Assistant Professor is a tenure-track faculty position that involves teaching, research, and service to the university and the academic community. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses, conduct research and publish scholarly articles, and participate in departmental and university service.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department.
2. Develop and teach new courses in area of expertise.
3. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including advising and directing research projects.

Research
1. Conduct original research in area of expertise.
2. Publish scholarly articles in top-tier journals.
3. Present research at academic conferences and workshops.

Service
1. Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and advising.
2. Engage in outreach and community service, including public speaking and media appearances.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and university strategic plans.

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. in Relevant Field: A Ph.D. in the relevant field or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
3. Research Experience: A strong research background, including publications and presentations.
4. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral experience or other relevant experience.
2. Specialization in a Particular Area: Specialization in a particular area of the field.
3. Experience with Grant Writing: Experience with grant writing and research funding.
4. Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to communicate in multiple languages.

Tenure and Promotion:

1. Tenure-Track Position: This is a tenure-track position, with the possibility of tenure after a probationary period.
2. Promotion to Associate Professor: Promotion to Associate Professor will be considered after a minimum of 6 years of service, subject to satisfactory performance and meeting the requirements for promotion.
