Assistant Professor of Economics
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor of Economics to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, conduct research in their area of specialization, and contribute to the department’s academic and research missions.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
– Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, intermediate microeconomics and macroeconomics, and specialized courses in area of specialization.
– Develop and teach new courses in area of specialization.
– Supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research projects and theses.
– Evaluate student performance, including grading assignments and exams.
Research:
– Conduct research in area of specialization, including publishing papers in top-tier journals and presenting research at conferences.
– Develop and implement research projects, including designing methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
– Collaborate with other researchers and faculty members to advance the field of economics.
Service:
– Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including committee work, student advising, and recruitment.
– Engage in outreach and community-building activities to promote the department and the university.
– Provide service to the profession, including reviewing papers, serving on editorial boards, and participating in professional organizations.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
– Ph.D. in Economics or a related field.
– Strong research background and potential for excellence in research.
– Excellent teaching and communication skills.
– Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge:
