Assistant Professor of Psychology
Job Summary
We are seeking an outstanding scholar and educator to join our Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will have a strong research background, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in psychology, including introductory psychology, research methods, and specialized courses in area of expertise.
2. Research: Conduct original research in area of expertise, publish scholarly articles, and secure external funding to support research program.
3. Mentoring: Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including supervising research projects and theses.
4. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work and community outreach.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of the psychology curriculum, including creating new courses and revising existing ones.
Requirements
1. Ph.D. in Psychology: Earned Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, with a strong research background and expertise in area of specialization.
2. Teaching Experience: Demonstrated teaching experience, with a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
3. Research Experience: Demonstrated research experience, with a strong record of publication and potential for securing external funding.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience, with a focus on area of specialization.
2. Grant Writing Experience: Experience with grant writing and securing external funding to support research program.
3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration, including working with colleagues from other departments and disciplines.
