Associate Professor in Computer Science

Job Summary

We are seeking an outstanding scholar and educator to join our faculty as an Associate Professor in Computer Science. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science, with expertise in areas such as networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or data science. They will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, conduct research, and contribute to the academic and professional growth of our institution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, develop and refine curricula, and ensure high-quality instruction and student engagement.
2. Research and Scholarship: Conduct original research and scholarly activities, publish research papers in reputable academic journals, and present at conferences.
3. Service and Leadership: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, community outreach, and professional development, and provide leadership and guidance to junior faculty members and students.
4. Mentoring and Advising: Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career matters.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of curricula, course materials, and assessment tools.

Requirements

1. Ph.D. in Computer Science: Earned Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, with a strong record of research and academic achievement.
2. Teaching and Research Experience: Proven experience in teaching and conducting research in computer science, with a focus on areas such as networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or data science.
3. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
4. Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate junior faculty members and students.

1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience, demonstrating a strong commitment to research and academic excellence.
2. Industry Experience: Relevant industry experience, demonstrating practical application of theoretical concepts.
