Elementary School Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to provide a positive and engaging learning experience for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will create a supportive classroom environment, foster a love for learning, and promote students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum standards for subjects such as mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive classroom environment, ensuring that students are engaged, focused, and respectful.
- Student Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
- Differentiation: Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs, including those of students with special needs.
- Communication: Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student learning and development.
- Collaborative Work: Participate in team meetings and school-wide events, collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Professional Development: Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training to stay current with educational practices and trends.
- Classroom Organization: Ensure the classroom is organized and conducive to a productive learning environment, maintaining educational materials and supplies.
- Behavioral Support: Promote positive behavior, resolve conflicts, and apply disciplinary actions as necessary while upholding school policies.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Support or lead extra-curricular activities and school events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. A valid teaching license or certification as required by the state.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching elementary-aged children is preferred, but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all students.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically and socially.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the classroom.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) for classroom materials and supplies.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with children.
Work Environment:
- Classroom setting, with occasional outdoor or off-site activities.
- Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with school holidays and summer break.
