ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER
Job Summary:
We seek a qualified and enthusiastic English Language Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English lessons, foster a love for literature and language, and support students’ academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
1. Plan and deliver English lessons to various age groups and skill levels.
2. Develop and implement curriculum aligned with national standards.
3. Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
4. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Literacy and Language Development:
1. Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
2. Foster critical thinking, analysis, and literary appreciation.
3. Encourage creative writing and communication.
Classroom Management:
1. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
2. Establish and maintain discipline, following school policies.
3. Manage classroom resources and equipment.
Student Support:
1. Provide individualized support and guidance.
2. Encourage student confidence and motivation.
3. Support ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
Collaboration and Communication:
1. Work with colleagues to integrate English across disciplines.
2. Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
3. Participate in department meetings and professional development.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or related field.
2. Teaching certification or qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).
3. Experience teaching English to various age groups.
4. Strong knowledge of English literature, language, and pedagogy.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in English or Education.
2. Experience with educational technology.
3. Familiarity with ESL methodologies.
4. Leadership or mentoring experience.
