Head Of Curriculum
Job Summary:
The Head of Curriculum is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the academic curriculum for all educational programs within the institution. This individual will work closely with senior leadership, teachers, and academic staff to ensure the curriculum is aligned with educational goals, standards, and the institution’s mission. The Head of Curriculum also plays a key role in ensuring continuous improvement of teaching and learning strategies to enhance student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Design:
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of a coherent and forward-thinking curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Ensure the curriculum aligns with national/state educational standards and integrates a variety of teaching and learning methods.
- Develop curriculum guidelines and frameworks for teachers and departments, ensuring consistency and quality across the institution.
- Incorporate the latest research and educational best practices into curriculum development.

Leadership and Coordination:
- Provide leadership and guidance to department heads and teaching staff in curriculum planning and instructional delivery.
- Foster a collaborative environment among faculty, facilitating regular meetings to review curriculum, share best practices, and address any challenges.
- Monitor the effective implementation of the curriculum across various subjects and grade levels.
- Ensure that assessments and evaluations are aligned with the curriculum and effectively measure student progress.

Professional Development:
- Organize and lead ongoing professional development opportunities for teaching staff on curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment strategies.
- Support teachers in integrating new curriculum initiatives, teaching methods, and educational technologies.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and reflection among the teaching staff.

Quality Assurance and Evaluation:
- Oversee the assessment of student performance and work with staff to identify areas for improvement in teaching and learning.
- Regularly review the curriculum to ensure it is relevant, inclusive, and challenging for students.
- Analyze student achievement data and develop action plans to address curriculum gaps or areas needing improvement.
- Prepare reports on curriculum effectiveness, student progress, and academic outcomes for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to communicate the curriculum’s objectives and progress.
- Engage with external bodies and education authorities to stay up-to-date on changes to educational policies, standards, and best practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of curricular initiatives that enhance the overall student experience.

Strategic Planning and Innovation:
- Contribute to the school’s strategic planning by developing curriculum goals that align with the institution’s mission and vision.
- Lead the adoption of innovative teaching methods, learning technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches to curriculum development.
- Ensure that the curriculum supports the development of 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

- Manage the curriculum-related budget, ensuring resources and materials are effectively allocated to support curriculum initiatives.
- Make recommendations for new resources, teaching materials, or technology tools to enhance curriculum delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education:
- A Master’s degree or higher in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field (required).
- Teaching certification and experience in classroom teaching (desired).

Experience:
- Proven experience in curriculum development and leadership, with at least [X] years in an educational leadership role.
- Experience in leading curriculum teams, teacher training, and educational innovation.
- Knowledge of educational assessments, data analysis, and instructional strategies.
