Job Summary:

The Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in their field of expertise. The role involves developing and delivering courses, assessing student progress, and supporting students’ academic development. Instructors are also expected to contribute to the academic community by staying current with industry trends and participating in relevant academic or institutional activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Instruction: Develop and deliver lessons, lectures, and practical sessions in the assigned courses. Use various teaching methods to engage students and support their learning, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligned with the curriculum.
  • Course Development: Collaborate with faculty members to design, update, and revise course materials, syllabi, and assessments. Ensure the curriculum meets academic standards and industry requirements.
  • Assessment and Grading: Create and grade assignments, exams, projects, and other student assessments. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Student Support: Provide academic support to students during office hours or via email. Offer guidance on assignments, projects, and general course content. Act as a mentor, offering advice on academic and career paths.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing student behavior and promoting an atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Professional Development: Engage in professional development activities to stay updated on advancements in the field, teaching strategies, and educational technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department, faculty, and university. Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other institutional activities.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with departmental or program-related administrative tasks, including attending meetings, helping with program assessments, or supporting student recruitment efforts when required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Master’s degree or higher in the relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Education, Business, etc.). A PhD is preferred for more senior positions.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience in higher education is preferred. A strong background in the subject area and practical industry experience can be beneficial.
