Lecturer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, developing and delivering curriculum, and contributing to the academic and research missions of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

– Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the relevant discipline, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
– Develop and deliver curriculum, including designing and delivering course materials, assessments, and evaluations.
– Evaluate student performance, including grading assignments and exams.

Research and Scholarship:

– Conduct original research in the relevant discipline, including publishing papers in top-tier journals and presenting research at conferences.
– Develop and implement research projects, including designing methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
– Collaborate with other researchers and faculty members to advance the field.

Service:

– Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including committee work, student advising, and recruitment.
– Engage in outreach and community-building activities to promote the department and the university.
– Provide service to the profession, including reviewing papers, serving on editorial boards, and participating in professional organizations.

Curriculum Development:

– Develop and implement new curriculum, including designing and delivering new courses and programs.
– Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum changes.

Student Advising:

– Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students, including providing guidance on academic and professional development.
– Mentor students in research projects and theses.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

– Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
– Minimum 2-3 years of experience in teaching and research.
– Strong research background and potential for excellence in research.
– Excellent teaching and communication skills.

Skills:

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Experience with curriculum development and implementation.

Knowledge:

– Strong knowledge of the relevant discipline, including current trends and developments.
– Understanding of research methodologies and techniques.
– Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation.

Desired Qualifications:

– Experience with online or blended learning program development and delivery.
– Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems.
– Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in academic settings.
