LECTURER EDUCATION
Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Education to join our academic faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in education, supervising student research, contributing to curriculum development, and actively participating in academic research and community engagement.
This position is ideal for a committed educator and scholar who is passionate about teacher development, educational policy, pedagogy, or curriculum studies. The role requires a strong foundation in educational theory and practice, as well as the ability to inspire future educators and contribute to the advancement of educational research and practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning
-
Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops in core areas of education (e.g., foundations of education, educational psychology, curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment, inclusive education, etc.).

Develop and maintain innovative and engaging course materials that align with program goals and learning outcomes.

Support student learning through mentoring, academic advising, and timely feedback.

Employ a range of teaching strategies, including the use of technology-enhanced learning, to meet the diverse needs of students.

Participate in teaching evaluations and continuous improvement of instructional methods.
2. Curriculum Development
-
Contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Ensure curriculum reflects current educational theory, research, and best practices.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and coherence across modules and academic levels.
3. Research & Scholarship
-
Conduct and publish original research in the field of education, contributing to the institution’s research profile.

Seek funding and grants to support research initiatives and academic projects.
-
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and theses.
-
Participate in academic conferences, seminars, and scholarly networks.
4. Professional & Institutional Service
-
Engage in departmental and faculty meetings, boards, and committees.

Support quality assurance and academic integrity processes.
-
Contribute to community outreach and partnerships with schools, educational organizations, and government bodies.

Promote inclusive, equitable, and evidence-based educational practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Education or a closely related field (PhD or EdD preferred).
-
Demonstrated experience teaching in higher education or in a teacher education/training setting.
-
A background in one or more of the following areas: pedagogy, curriculum studies, educational leadership, educational technology, psychology of education, special and inclusive education, early childhood or secondary education.

A developing track record of research and publications in reputable academic journals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Doctorate (PhD/EdD) in Education or a related discipline.

Experience supervising postgraduate research.

Experience in blended, online, or distance learning environments.

Familiarity with accreditation processes, education policy, and current trends in teaching and learning.
-
Teaching qualification or certification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or state licensure).

Active membership in relevant professional associations or networks.
