Lecturer in Food Science & Technology
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Food Science & Technology to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to the academic administration of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in food science and technology, including lectures, seminars, and laboratories.
2. Develop and implement innovative teaching methods, including online and blended learning.
3. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, including honors and thesis students.
4. Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
Research
1. Conduct original research in food science and technology, publishing research findings in reputable journals.
2. Develop and maintain a research program, including securing funding and collaborating with colleagues.
3. Present research at national and international conferences.
4. Contribute to the development of the department’s research profile.
Service
1. Contribute to the academic administration of the department, including committee work and curriculum development.
2. Participate in departmental and faculty meetings.
3. Engage in community outreach and service, including partnerships with industry and government.
4. Contribute to the development of the department’s strategic plan.
Leadership
1. Provide leadership and vision in the field of food science and technology, contributing to the development of the department’s research and teaching programs.
2. Mentor junior faculty members, providing guidance and support in their academic careers.
3. Participate in departmental and faculty decision-making processes, providing expertise and advice.
4. Represent the department and faculty at national and international conferences and meetings.
Requirements:
Qualifications
1. Earned PhD in food science and technology or related field.
2. Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
3. Strong research background, including publications in reputable journals.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
1. At least 2 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
2. At least 2 years of research experience, including publications in reputable journals.
3. Experience with curriculum development and academic administration.
Skills
1. Strong teaching and research skills.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
