Lecturer in Nutritional Sciences
Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Nutritional Sciences is responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutritional sciences, conduct research in their area of specialization, and participate in departmental and university service.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutritional sciences, including nutrition and health, nutrition and disease, and nutrition research methods.
2. Develop and teach new courses in nutritional sciences, including online and hybrid courses.
3. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including advising and directing research projects.
Research
1. Conduct original research in nutritional sciences, including publishing scholarly articles in top-tier journals.
2. Present research at academic conferences and workshops.
3. Participate in departmental and university research seminars and workshops.
Service
1. Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and advising.
2. Engage in outreach and community service, including public speaking and media appearances.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and university strategic plans.
Requirements:
1. Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences or Related Field: A Ph.D. in nutritional sciences or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in nutritional sciences.
3. Research Experience: A strong research background, including publications and presentations.
4. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS): Registration as a dietitian (RD) or certification as a nutrition specialist (CNS).
2. Experience with Grant Writing: Experience with grant writing and research funding.
3. Specialization in a Particular Area of Nutritional Sciences: Specialization in a particular area of nutritional sciences, such as nutrition and disease, nutrition and health, or nutrition research methods.
4. Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
