Lecturer in Psychology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer in Psychology to join our Department of Psychology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychology, conducting research, and contributing to the academic administration of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Course Coordination: Teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychology, including introductory psychology, research methods, statistics, and specialized courses in areas such as clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, and social psychology.
2. Research: Conduct research in psychology, publish research findings in reputable journals, and present research at national and international conferences.
3. Academic Administration: Contribute to the academic administration of the department, including course development, curriculum review, and student advising.
4. Supervision: Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including honors and PhD students.
5. Service: Contribute to the service activities of the department, including membership on departmental and faculty committees.

Requirements:

1. PhD in Psychology: A PhD in psychology or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching psychology at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
3. Research Experience: A strong research background in psychology, with a track record of publication in reputable journals.
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
5. Administrative Skills: Demonstrated administrative skills, with experience in course coordination, curriculum development, and student advising.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Registration as a Psychologist: Registration as a psychologist with the relevant professional body.
2. Experience in Clinical or Counseling Psychology: Experience in clinical or counseling psychology, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
3. Experience in Research Supervision: Experience in supervising research students, including honors and PhD students.
4. Experience in Course Development: Experience in developing and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychology.
