Lecturer Pharmacy
Job Summary:
The Lecturer in Pharmacy is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to the academic development of undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students. This role includes the design and delivery of course content, engagement in research and scholarly activities, supervision of student research projects, and active participation in departmental, institutional, and professional activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach and assess undergraduate and/or postgraduate pharmacy courses such as pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmacognosy, medicinal chemistry, clinical pharmacy, and pharmacy practice.

Design and update course materials, lecture content, practical sessions, and assessments in alignment with current pharmaceutical standards and educational guidelines.

Supervise laboratory work, research projects, internships, and theses for pharmacy students.

Contribute to the development of curriculum and quality assurance processes.

Engage in scholarly research and publish findings in reputable journals and conferences.

Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, guiding them in their academic and professional development.

Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, and outreach initiatives.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in pharmacy practice, education, and regulation.
Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D); a Ph.D. in a pharmacy-related field is highly desirable.

Registered or eligible for registration as a pharmacist with the relevant professional body (e.g., PCI, GPhC).

Strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and/or clinical pharmacy.

Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to teaching excellence, student-centered learning, and academic integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Pharmacy or a related discipline.

Experience teaching in a higher education setting.

A record of scholarly research, publications, or professional practice.

Familiarity with pharmacy accreditation standards (e.g., PCI, ACPE).

Industry or hospital pharmacy experience.
