Montessori Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Montessori Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a prepared environment that fosters independence, self-directed learning, and academic excellence in our students. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy and methodology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning
– Create a prepared environment that promotes independent learning and exploration.
– Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Montessori curriculum and philosophy.
– Observe and assess student progress, providing individualized feedback and support.
– Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages socialization and community building.
Classroom Management
– Maintain a well-organized and tidy classroom environment that promotes independence and self-directed learning.
– Establish and maintain clear boundaries and expectations for student behavior.
– Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning and behavior.
Communication and Collaboration
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, share best practices, and support student learning.
– Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
Requirements:
Education and Certification
– Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
– Montessori certification (AMS or AMI) or willingness to pursue certification.
Experience
– At least 2 years of experience teaching in a Montessori classroom.
– Experience working with children of various ages and skill levels.
Skills
– Deep understanding of Montessori philosophy and methodology.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
