    • Document and report autopsy findings in a thorough and clear manner for legal or medical purposes.
  4. Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Management:

  5. Research and Education:

    • Participate in medical research to understand disease mechanisms, improve diagnostic methods, or discover new treatments.
    • Publish research findings in medical journals and present findings at conferences or seminars.
    • Educate and train medical students, residents, or fellows on pathology techniques and principles, contributing to the development of the next generation of pathologists.
  6. Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure that diagnostic work complies with all relevant regulations, medical standards, and ethical guidelines.
    • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure that laboratory practices and procedures are accurate and meet regulatory requirements.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines for laboratory procedures.
  7. Patient Case Reviews:

    • Review and consult on complex or challenging cases in collaboration with other specialists to ensure the most accurate diagnosis and treatment.
    • Offer second opinions on diagnoses for medical professionals or patients as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with a specialization in pathology, or equivalent qualification.
  • Board Certification: Board certification in pathology (Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both) by a recognized medical board.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in pathology, including clinical practice and laboratory management.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of disease processes, diagnostic methods, laboratory testing, and medical technologies.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in diagnosing and interpreting test results.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data from lab tests and patient histories to form accurate diagnoses.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terms to non-medical staff or patients.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to make informed decisions and solve complex diagnostic problems.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: Adherence to high ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional behavior.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a specific area of pathology, such as pediatric pathology or molecular pathology.
  • Research experience, with publications in medical journals or involvement in clinical studies.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically in a hospital, laboratory, or academic medical center.
  • Regular office or laboratory hours, with potential on-call requirements depending on the facility.
  • Possible exposure to biological samples, chemicals, and hazardous materials, with strict adherence to safety protocols.
