Principal

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary educational leader to serve as Principal. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction to the school community, ensuring academic excellence, student success, and a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Vision: Provide strategic leadership and vision to the school community, aligning with the district’s mission and goals.
2. Academic Excellence: Foster a culture of academic excellence, ensuring high-quality instruction, curriculum development, and student assessment.
3. Student Success: Promote student success, well-being, and safety, ensuring a positive and inclusive school culture.
4. Teacher Evaluation and Development: Evaluate and develop teacher performance, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
5. Budget Management: Manage the school’s budget, allocating resources effectively to support academic programs and school operations.
6. Communication and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and the broader community, fostering positive relationships and partnerships.
7. Discipline and Student Conduct: Oversee student discipline and conduct, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.

Requirements

1. Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership: Earned master’s degree in educational leadership or a related field, such as educational administration or curriculum development.
2. Administrative Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of administrative experience, such as assistant principal or department chair.
3. Teaching Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of success in the classroom.
4. Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower teachers, students, and staff.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

1. Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership: Earned doctoral degree in educational leadership or a related field, such as educational administration or curriculum development.
2. Certification in Educational Leadership: Certification in educational leadership, such as the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) certification.
3. Experience with School Reform: Experience with school reform initiatives, such as turnaround schools or innovation zones.
4. Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages, reflecting the diversity of the school community.
