Professor in Computer Science
Job Summary:
The Professor in Computer Science will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the field of computer science. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science, excellent teaching and research skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, including programming languages, algorithms, data structures, computer systems, and software engineering.
1. Research:
Conduct research in computer science, including publishing papers in top-tier conferences and journals, and securing funding from government agencies and industry partners.
1. Service:
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees, and participate in professional organizations and conferences.
1. Student Advising:
Advise undergraduate and graduate students in computer science, including mentoring students in research projects and providing guidance on career opportunities.
1. Curriculum Development:
Develop and update curriculum in computer science, including creating new courses and revising existing ones to reflect changes in the field.
Requirements:
1. Education:
Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
1. Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in teaching and research in computer science.
1. Teaching:
Excellent teaching skills, including the ability to teach a variety of courses in computer science.
1. Research:
Strong research skills, including the ability to publish papers in top-tier conferences and journals.
1. Service:
Excellent service skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Industry Experience:
Experience working in industry, including software development, consulting, or research and development.
1. Funding:
Experience securing funding from government agencies and industry partners.
1. Leadership:
Experience leading research teams, including mentoring students and managing research projects.
