Registrar

Job Summary:

The Registrar is a senior administrative officer responsible for overseeing the registration, records, and enrollment processes for the university. The Registrar ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of student academic records and provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Records:

Oversee the creation, maintenance, and security of student academic records.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding student records.

1. Registration and Enrollment:

Develop and implement registration and enrollment policies and procedures.

Oversee the registration process, including course scheduling, room assignments, and sectioning.

1. Degree Verification and Certification:

Verify student degree requirements and certify degree completion.

Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards for degree programs.

1. FERPA Compliance:

Ensure compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other federal regulations regarding student records.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for FERPA compliance.

1. Customer Service:

Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to academic records, registration, and enrollment.

Requirements:

1. Education:

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.

1. Experience:

At least 5-7 years of experience in higher education administration, preferably in a registrar’s office or academic affairs.

1. Skills:

Strong knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and regulations.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.

Proficiency in student information systems, such as Banner, Colleague, or PeopleSoft.
