Registrar
Job Summary:
The Registrar is the chief administrative officer responsible for managing the official records and academic policies of the institution. The Registrar ensures the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student academic records and provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student academic records, including transcripts, grades, and degree conferrals.
2. Registration: Oversee the registration process, including course scheduling, enrollment, and withdrawals.
3. Academic Policies: Interpret and enforce academic policies, including degree requirements, transfer credits, and academic standing.
4. Student Services: Provide exceptional customer service to students, including responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on academic policies and procedures.
5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to academic records and student data.
6. Reporting: Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders, including enrollment reports, graduation rates, and student outcomes.
7. Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage the Registrar’s Office staff, including training, evaluating, and providing guidance and support.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a registrar’s office or related administrative role in higher education.
3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and regulations, including FERPA and other federal and state laws.
4. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
5. Technical: Proficiency in student information systems, such as Banner, Colleague, or similar systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification: Certified Registrar (CR) or Certified Associate Registrar (CAR) designation.
2. Experience with Technology: Experience with emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, or other innovative solutions.
3. Data Analysis: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making.
