Research Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting research projects, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting in the dissemination of research findings.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Support:

– Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of research projects.
– Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings.
– Collect and analyze data, including quantitative and qualitative data.
– Assist in the development of research instruments, such as surveys and questionnaires.

Data Management:

– Manage and maintain research databases, including data entry and data cleaning.
– Assist in the development of data management plans.
– Ensure data quality and integrity.

Dissemination of Research Findings:

– Assist in the preparation of research reports, papers, and presentations.
– Help to disseminate research findings through various channels, including academic journals, conferences, and social media.

Collaboration and Communication:

– Work collaboratively with researchers, academics, and other stakeholders.
– Communicate research findings and results to various audiences, including researchers, policymakers, and the general public.

Administrative Tasks:

– Assist in the preparation of research proposals and grant applications.
– Manage and coordinate research-related administrative tasks, such as ethics approvals and participant recruitment.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, health sciences, or statistics.
– Experience in research support, data management, and analysis.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Skills:

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– Proficiency in statistical software, such as R, SPSS, or SAS.

Knowledge:

– Strong knowledge of research methods and designs.
– Understanding of data management and analysis principles.
– Familiarity with research ethics and governance principles.

Desired Qualifications:

– Experience with qualitative data analysis software, such as NVivo or Atlas.ti.
– Familiarity with systematic review methodology.
– Experience with research dissemination and knowledge translation.
