Job Summary:
The School Headmistress serves as the principal leader of the school, responsible for overseeing the educational, administrative, and operational aspects of the institution. She is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction of the school, maintaining high academic standards, and fostering a positive school culture that supports both students and staff. The Headmistress is a key figure in managing the day-to-day activities of the school, ensuring the delivery of quality education, and managing staff and resources effectively.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, strategic, and results-oriented leader with a strong background in education and school management. She will work closely with the school board, teachers, staff, parents, and the community to ensure the school provides a nurturing and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:

Lead the school in the development and implementation of its mission, vision, and values.

Set and communicate clear educational goals for the school, aligned with the school’s mission and local or national educational standards.

Develop and execute long-term strategic plans to enhance academic achievement, school reputation, and community engagement.

Foster a school culture that promotes collaboration, inclusivity, and academic excellence.
2. Academic Oversight:

Ensure that the school’s curriculum is rigorous, up-to-date, and aligned with national or regional standards.

Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of academic programs to meet the diverse needs of students.

Monitor and assess student performance regularly, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve learning outcomes.

Support teachers in their professional development, helping them improve instructional methods and student engagement.
3. Staff Management and Development:

Hire, train, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the needs of students.

4. Budgeting and Financial Oversight:

5. Student Welfare and Discipline:

6. Parent and Community Engagement:

Supervise the daily operational functions of the school, such as transportation, cafeteria services, and after-school programs.
Qualifications:
Required:

Education: A master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

Experience: At least 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years in a leadership or administrative role, such as an assistant principal or department head.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.
