School Support Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate School Support Officer to join our school community. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the school, assist with student well-being and engagement, and help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the school, including tasks such as data entry, record-keeping, and document preparation.
2. Student Support: Assist with student well-being and engagement, including providing support for students with special needs, managing student behavior, and helping to resolve conflicts.
3. Communication: Liaise with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
4. Event Management: Assist with the organization and coordination of school events, such as parent-teacher conferences, school assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
5. Safety and Security: Help maintain a safe and secure learning environment, including monitoring student behavior, reporting incidents, and assisting with emergency response procedures.
6. Data Analysis: Assist with data analysis and reporting, including tracking student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
7. Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in education and student support.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma: Earned high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Administrative Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
4. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
5. Emotional Intelligence: High emotional intelligence, with the ability to empathize with students and provide support and guidance.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree: Earned associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as education, psychology, or social work.
2. Experience Working with Children: Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
3. Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to speak multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
4. First Aid and CPR Certification: Possession of first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
5. Experience with Student Information Systems: Experience with student information systems, such as PowerSchool or Synergy.

Work Environment
