Job Summary:
The Secondary Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons to secondary school students (typically grades 7-12), promoting academic achievement, and fostering personal and social growth. The teacher will create a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and the development of 21st-century skills. The role involves planning, teaching, assessing, and providing feedback on students’ academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery:
- Plan and deliver structured lessons that engage students and encourage active learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources (e.g., lectures, discussions, projects, multimedia) to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance student learning and participation.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Curriculum and Lesson Planning:
- Follow and implement the school’s curriculum framework while preparing lesson plans that meet educational standards and objectives.
- Adapt and modify lesson plans as necessary to accommodate students’ individual needs and learning paces.
- Ensure that lessons are challenging, engaging, and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, assignments, and projects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance and areas for improvement.
- Use assessment data to adjust teaching strategies and provide additional support to students as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement.

Classroom Management:
- Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and procedures to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Address behavioral issues promptly and in accordance with school policies.
- Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and academic excellence within the classroom.

Student Support:
- Provide additional academic support for students who are struggling and offer enrichment opportunities for high-achieving students.
- Encourage student participation and motivate them to take ownership of their learning.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor, guiding students’ academic and personal development.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior.

Professional Development:
- Participate in regular professional development sessions to stay current on best practices, curriculum changes, and new teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and work on cross-curricular initiatives.
- Attend school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events.

- Actively participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and committees as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to promote a strong school community.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of school-wide educational programs and initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, the subject area being taught, or a related field (required).
- Relevant teaching certification/license (required).
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred.
- Knowledge of the subject matter and passion for teaching at the secondary school level.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, classroom management, and formative/summative assessments.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic potential.

Working Conditions:
