Senior Educational Counsellor
Job Summary:
The Senior Educational Counsellor will provide expert guidance and support to students, parents, and educators on educational and career-related matters. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of educational systems, curricula, and career pathways, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Counselling and Guidance: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, parents, and educators on educational and career-related matters.
2. Educational Planning: Help students develop personalized educational plans, including course selection, career exploration, and post-secondary education planning.
3. Career Development: Provide guidance on career development, including career assessments, job search strategies, and professional networking.
4. Program Development: Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, and career exploration.
5. Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with educators, administrators, and community partners to promote educational and career opportunities for students.
6. Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and measure the effectiveness of educational programs and services.
Requirements:
1. Education: Master’s degree in Counselling, Education, or a related field.
2. Certifications: Certification in educational counselling or a related field (e.g. CCC, CCDF).
3. Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in educational counselling or a related field.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctoral Degree: Doctoral degree in Counselling, Education, or a related field.
2. Experience in Educational Leadership: Experience in educational leadership, including experience as a department head, program coordinator, or school administrator.
3. Bilingualism: Fluency in more than one language.
4. Technical Skills: Familiarity with educational software and technology, including student information systems and career assessment tools.
