Special Educator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled Special Educator to support students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive school environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and specialists to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), provide targeted interventions, and promote an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:

Identify students with learning difficulties or disabilities through assessments, observations, and referrals.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) based on student needs.

Provide pull-out and push-in support to help students access the curriculum at their level.

Use a variety of specialized teaching strategies and tools to support learners with academic, behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges.

Track and document student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Collaboration & Inclusion:

Work closely with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and teaching strategies.

Offer professional guidance and co-teaching support to classroom staff on differentiation and inclusive practices.

Collaborate with parents, therapists, counselors, and external specialists to ensure coordinated care and support.

Promote awareness and understanding of learning differences across the school community.
Professional Development & Compliance:

Stay updated on best practices in special education, neurodiversity, and inclusive pedagogy.

Ensure all documentation and support plans comply with school policies and local/international educational regulations.

Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all student interactions and documentation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or Education with Special Needs certification

Valid teaching license/certification (Special Education preferred)

Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with students with special educational needs

Strong understanding of learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and inclusive education strategies

Familiarity with IEPs, ILPs, and assessment tools

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
-
Master’s Degree in Special Education or Inclusive Education

Experience in international or inclusive school settings
-
Familiarity with the IB programmes, British, or US curriculum adaptations for SEN
-
Training in behavioral management systems, assistive technologies, or therapeutic strategies (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, TEACCH, PECS, ABA)
