Student Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Student Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will provide counseling services to students, supporting their academic, personal, and social development. This role requires a strong understanding of student needs and a commitment to promoting student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

– Counseling Services:
– Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing their academic, personal, and social concerns.
– Develop and implement counseling programs and services that support student success and well-being.
– Student Support:
– Work with students to identify and address barriers to academic success, developing strategies to overcome challenges.
– Collaborate with faculty and staff to support students and promote a positive campus environment.
– Crisis Intervention:
– Respond to student crises and emergencies, providing support and guidance.
– Develop and implement crisis intervention plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
– Referral and Collaboration:
– Refer students to campus resources and services, such as academic support, health services, and counseling.
– Collaborate with campus partners to support students and promote a positive campus environment.

Requirements:

– Education:
– Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
– Licensure:
– Licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) or licensed therapist (LCSW, LMFT, etc.) may be required.
– Experience:
– Experience working with students in a counseling or support role.
– Skills:
– Strong counseling and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
– Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience:
– Experience working in higher education or a related field.
– Experience developing and implementing counseling programs and services.
– Certifications:
– Certification in counseling or a related field may be an asset.
