Job Summary:
The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, creating a positive and engaging classroom environment, and supporting the academic and personal growth of each student. The role involves planning lessons, assessing student performance, maintaining classroom discipline, and collaborating with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the overall development of students. The teacher will focus on nurturing students’ intellectual, emotional, and social skills while fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction and Lesson Delivery:
    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements and the individual needs of students.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, group work, discussions, and hands-on activities, to cater to diverse learning styles.
    • Promote active student participation and encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
    • Provide clear instructions and set learning objectives for each lesson to guide student achievement.
  2. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Regularly assess student performance through quizzes, tests, assignments, projects, and class participation.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and skills.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and attendance.
    • Use assessment results to adjust teaching methods and provide additional support or challenges to students as needed.
  3. Classroom Management:
    • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and focused classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes learning.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure that students follow school rules and guidelines.
    • Address and resolve behavioral issues in a fair and consistent manner, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
  4. Student Support and Development:
    • Foster the intellectual, emotional, and social development of students by providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
    • Identify and address individual student needs, including academic challenges and personal issues, and provide appropriate interventions or referrals.
    • Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities to support their well-rounded development.
    • Act as a mentor and role model, promoting positive behavior, good work ethics, and personal responsibility.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, share resources, and discuss student progress.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student performance, behavior, and areas for improvement.
    • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events to stay informed and involved in the school community.
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on the latest educational practices.
  6. Curriculum Development and Adaptation:
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of the school curriculum to ensure it meets the academic goals and addresses students’ learning needs.
    • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or language barriers.
    • Integrate technology and digital tools into lessons to enhance learning and engage students.
  7. Extracurricular Involvement:
    • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as school clubs, sports teams, or academic events, to support students’ interests and talents.
    • Provide guidance and leadership in organizing school events and activities that contribute to students’ development.
  8. Professionalism:
    • Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions with students, colleagues, and parents.
    • Uphold the values and ethos of the school, ensuring that personal conduct aligns with the school’s mission and vision.
    • Continuously seek to improve teaching practices through self-reflection, feedback from peers, and participation in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area (depending on the subject taught).
    • Teaching certification or licensure (where applicable) is required.
  • Experience:
    • Prior teaching experience in a school setting is preferred.
    • Experience in preparing and delivering lessons, managing a classroom, and assessing student performance.
    • Experience with diverse student populations and familiarity with inclusive education practices is a plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
    • Strong classroom management skills.
    • Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into teaching practices.

Working Conditions:
