Lab Engineer
Job Summary:
The Lab Engineer will design, develop, and maintain laboratory equipment and experiments, ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory facilities and supporting the research and development activities of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lab Equipment Design and Development: Design, develop, and test laboratory equipment, including experimental setups and prototypes.
2. Lab Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
3. Experimentation and Testing: Assist researchers in designing and conducting experiments, and collect and analyze data.
4. Safety Protocols and Procedures: Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including experiment results, equipment maintenance, and safety incidents.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, physics, biology).
2. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a research or development environment.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as experience with relevant software and programming languages.
4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement creative solutions.
5. Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Advanced Degree: Advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
2. Specialized Training: Specialized training or certification in laboratory safety, equipment operation, or research methodologies.
3. Industry Experience: Experience working in a relevant industry (e.g., biotechnology, materials science).
4. Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++).
5. Leadership Experience: Experience leading or managing laboratory teams or projects.
