Computer Lab Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Computer Lab Assistant to provide technical support and maintenance for our computer laboratories. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of computer hardware, software, and networks, and provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff with computer hardware, software, and network issues.
2. Lab Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updating software, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring lab equipment is in good working order.
3. Hardware and Software Installation: Install and configure computer hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and network devices.
4. Network Support: Assist with network configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including ensuring network security and integrity.
5. User Assistance: Provide guidance and training to students, faculty, and staff on computer hardware, software, and network usage.
6. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of computer equipment, software, and supplies.
7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other IT staff, faculty, and students to resolve technical issues and implement new technologies.
Requirements:
1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and networking, including Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
2. Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
3. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Organizational: Strong organizational and time management skills.
5. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Working Conditions:
