Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Professor of Computer Science to join our faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, conducting research in their area of expertise, and contributing to the growth and development of the department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science, including developing and delivering course materials, assessing student learning, and providing feedback.
2. Research: Conduct research in Computer Science, including publishing papers, securing funding, and collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
3. Service: Contribute to the growth and development of the department, including serving on committees, advising students, and participating in departmental events.
4. Mentorship: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including advising on research projects and providing guidance on academic and professional development.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and revision of undergraduate and graduate curricula in Computer Science.
Requirements
1. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Experience: Postdoctoral research experience or equivalent industry experience.
3. Skills: Strong teaching, research, and communication skills.
4. Knowledge: Expertise in one or more areas of Computer Science, including but not limited to algorithms, artificial intelligence, computer networks, computer vision, cybersecurity, data science, human-computer interaction, machine learning, operating systems, programming languages, software engineering.
Desired Qualifications
1. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science.
2. Research Funding: Experience securing research funding from government agencies, foundations, or industry partners.
3. Industry Experience: Experience working in industry, including but not limited to software development, data science, artificial intelligence.
4. Leadership Experience: Experience leading research teams, including but not limited to managing research projects, mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers.
