Lecturer
Position Summary:
We are inviting applications for the position of Lecturer to join our esteemed academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to the academic life of the department. Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction

Plan and deliver engaging and effective lectures, tutorials, seminars, or workshops to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.

Develop and maintain course materials in alignment with learning objectives and institutional standards.

Use a variety of teaching methodologies, including digital and blended learning platforms.

Supervise students on academic projects, research dissertations, or professional placements.

Assess student performance through coursework, exams, presentations, and other methods.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and development.
2. Research & Scholarly Activity

Conduct high-quality research and contribute to the academic output of the department.

Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings.

Pursue research funding and collaborative projects within and outside the institution.

Supervise research students and contribute to a vibrant academic research culture.
3. Curriculum Development

Contribute to the design, development, and review of academic programs and modules.

Ensure that teaching content remains current, evidence-based, and aligned with industry and academic standards.

Integrate interdisciplinary and practical perspectives into course delivery.
4. Academic Advising & Student Support
-
Act as an academic advisor or mentor to assigned students.

Provide guidance on academic planning, career paths, and research opportunities.

Support student well-being and success through inclusive and empathetic advising practices.
5. Professional & Institutional Service
-
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and administrative tasks.

Contribute to program reviews, accreditation processes, and quality assurance efforts.

Represent the institution at conferences, public events, and academic networks.

Support outreach and engagement with industry, community, or educational partners.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in the relevant subject area (PhD or equivalent preferred).

Demonstrated experience in teaching, research, or academic practice.

In-depth knowledge of the subject matter and pedagogical best practices.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Competence in using learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and digital tools.
Preferred Qualifications:

PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field.

Record of published academic work or evidence of a developing research profile.

Teaching certification or formal training in higher education pedagogy (e.g., PGCertHE).

Experience supervising students and participating in curriculum development.

Engagement with professional bodies, accreditation agencies, or educational networks.
