Lecture Management Sciences

Job Summary:

The Lecturer in Management Sciences is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in the field of management, business administration, and related subjects. This role requires expertise in management principles, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues. In addition to teaching, the Lecturer will engage in research activities, contribute to curriculum development, and support various academic and departmental functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Instruction:
    • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials on management topics such as strategic management, organizational behavior, marketing, finance, human resource management, operations management, etc.
    • Develop and prepare course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional resources.
    • Conduct assessments and evaluate student performance (e.g., assignments, exams, projects).
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and academic support to students both inside and outside the classroom.
    • Employ innovative teaching methods, such as case studies, simulations, and group projects.
  2. Research and Scholarship:
    • Conduct research in areas related to management and contribute to the academic field through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Develop research proposals, apply for grants, and collaborate with other researchers in management sciences.
    • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, ensuring students produce quality research work.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends, theories, and practices in management to enhance teaching and research quality.
  3. Curriculum Development:
    • Contribute to the development and review of the management curriculum.
    • Design new courses or modify existing courses to meet academic standards and the needs of students.
    • Incorporate industry trends, new research findings, and emerging technologies into the curriculum.
  4. Academic Administration:
    • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
    • Serve on academic committees, including those related to student admissions, curriculum development, and faculty recruitment.
    • Maintain student records and ensure adherence to institutional academic policies.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Attend and participate in workshops, conferences, and professional development activities.
    • Build and maintain professional networks with academic and industry professionals.
    • Continuously improve teaching effectiveness and research skills.
  6. Service to the Institution:
    • Support the department’s outreach and engagement activities.
    • Provide academic leadership, mentor junior staff, and support the development of the academic community.
    • Participate in university events, public lectures, or community outreach programs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Education:
    • A Master’s degree in Management Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required. A Ph.D. is preferred, especially for research-focused positions.
  2. Experience:
    • Prior teaching experience at the university or college level is often required.
    • Practical experience in management or relevant industries is highly valued.
    • Demonstrated research experience, including publications in reputable journals.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage students.
    • Research and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct independent scholarly work.
