Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Arabic to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Arabic language, literature, and culture. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Arabic language, literature, and culture, including language acquisition, grammar, literature, and cultural studies.
2. Research: Conduct research in Arabic language, literature, and culture, publishing scholarly articles and presenting at conferences.
3. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, community outreach, and professional development.
4. Mentoring and Advising: Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career matters.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of curricula, course materials, and assessment tools.

Requirements

1. Ph.D. in Arabic: Earned Ph.D. in Arabic language, literature, or culture, with a strong record of research and academic achievement.
2. Teaching Experience: Proven teaching experience, either as a teaching assistant or instructor.
3. Language Proficiency: Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Cultural Competence: Strong knowledge of Arabic culture and customs, with the ability to incorporate cultural context into teaching and research.
