Transport Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Transport Officer to manage and coordinate the transportation of students, staff, and equipment. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and timely transportation of passengers and goods, while also maintaining accurate records and reports.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transportation Coordination: Coordinate and manage the transportation of students, staff, and equipment, including scheduling, routing, and logistics.
2. Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
3. Driver Management: Supervise and manage drivers, including training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, laws, and policies, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for passengers and drivers.
5. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and reports, including transportation logs, vehicle maintenance records, and driver performance evaluations.
6. Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage transportation budgets, including fuel, maintenance, and vehicle replacement costs.
7. Communication and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and communication to passengers, drivers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma: Earned high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Transportation Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in transportation management, coordination, or a related field.
3. Valid Driver’s License: Possession of a valid driver’s license.
4. Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree: Earned bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as transportation management, logistics, or business administration.
2. Transportation Certifications: Possession of relevant transportation certifications, such as the Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or the Certified Driver Trainer (CDT).
3. Experience with Transportation Software: Familiarity with transportation software, including routing, scheduling, and fleet management systems.
4. Knowledge of Transportation Regulations: Knowledge of transportation regulations, laws, and policies, including those related to safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability.
