Lecturer in Economics

Job Summary:

A Lecturer in Economics is responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of Economics. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, conduct research in their area of specialization, and participate in departmental and university service.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and specialized courses in area of expertise.
2. Develop and teach new courses in economics, including online and hybrid courses.
3. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including advising and directing research projects.

Research
1. Conduct original research in area of specialization, including publishing scholarly articles in top-tier journals.
2. Present research at academic conferences and workshops.
3. Participate in departmental and university research seminars and workshops.

Service
1. Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and advising.
2. Engage in outreach and community service, including public speaking and media appearances.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental and university strategic plans.

Requirements:

1. Ph.D. in Economics: A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field.
2. Teaching Experience: Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in economics.
3. Research Experience: A strong research background, including publications and presentations.
4. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Specialization in a Particular Area: Specialization in a particular area of economics, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, or international trade.
2. Experience with Econometric Software: Experience with econometric software, such as Stata, R, or Python.
3. Experience with Online Teaching: Experience with online teaching and learning platforms.
4. Awards or Recognition: Awards or recognition for teaching, research, or service.
