Lecturer in Fine Arts
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lecturer in Fine Arts to join our faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in fine arts, conduct research, and contribute to the academic and professional growth of our institution.
Key Responsibilities’
1. Teaching: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in fine arts, including studio courses, art history, and art theory.
2. Research and Creative Activity: Conduct research and engage in creative activity in fine arts, including exhibitions, performances, and publications.
3. Service: Participate in departmental, college, and university service, including committee work, community outreach, and professional development.
4. Mentoring and Advising: Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on academic and career matters.
5. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of curricula, course materials, and assessment tools.
Requirements
1. M.F.A. or Ph.D.: Earned M.F.A. or Ph.D. in fine arts or a related field, with a strong record of research and creative activity.
2. Teaching Experience: Proven teaching experience, either as a teaching assistant or instructor.
3. Research and Creative Experience: Established research and creative experience, demonstrated by exhibitions, performances, publications, and/or funding.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
1. Postdoctoral Experience: Postdoctoral research experience, demonstrating a strong commitment to research and creative activity.
2. Industry Experience: Relevant industry experience, demonstrating practical application of theoretical concepts.
3. Leadership Experience: Experience in leadership roles, such as department chair, program director, or research team leader.
4. Awards and Honors: Awards and honors, such as teaching awards, research grants, or professional recognition.
