Montessori Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Montessori Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment, guiding students in their academic and personal growth, and fostering a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create a Prepared Environment: Design and maintain a Montessori-prepared classroom environment that promotes independent learning, exploration, and discovery.
2. Lesson Planning and Presentation: Plan and present individual and group lessons that align with the Montessori curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
3. Observe and Record Student Progress: Observe students’ progress, recording their achievements and challenges, and using this information to inform instruction.
4. Support Student Independence: Encourage students to take ownership of their learning, making choices and decisions that promote autonomy and self-directed learning.
5. Foster Social and Emotional Growth: Support students’ social and emotional development, helping them to build strong relationships, manage conflicts, and develop self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
6. Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, share best practices, and support student learning.
7. Communicate with Parents: Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on student progress, sharing insights into their child’s learning, and involving them in the educational process.
Requirements:
1. Montessori Certification: Hold a recognized Montessori certification (e.g., AMI, AMS, MACTE).
2. Bachelor’s Degree: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field.
3. Teaching Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a Montessori setting.
4. Knowledge of Montessori Method: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Montessori method, including its principles, practices, and materials.
5. Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
