Vice Chancellor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Vice Chancellor to provide strategic leadership and vision to our institution. The successful candidate will oversee academic programs, research, and student affairs, and will contribute to the development and implementation of institutional policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and vision for academic programs, research, and student affairs.
2. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of institutional strategic plans and policies.
3. Academic Program Development: Oversee the development and implementation of new academic programs and courses.
4. Research and Innovation: Foster a culture of research and innovation, supporting faculty and student research initiatives.
5. Student Affairs: Oversee student affairs, including student life, student conduct, and student support services.
6. Budget Management: Oversee budget planning and management for academic programs and research initiatives.
7. Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government, industry, and community partners.
8. Staff Management: Supervise and mentor senior staff, including deans, heads of departments, and other senior academics.
Requirements
1. Ph.D.: Earned Ph.D. in a relevant field, with a strong record of scholarship and academic achievement.
2. Administrative Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of administrative experience in higher education, including experience as a dean, department chair, or other senior academic leader.
3. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
4. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.
Desired Qualifications
1. Experience with Accreditation: Experience with accreditation processes and procedures.
2. Knowledge of Higher Education Policy: Familiarity with higher education policy and regulatory issues.
3. Experience with Fundraising: Experience with fundraising and development, including securing grants and donations.
4. International Experience: Experience working in international higher education settings, including experience with international partnerships and collaborations.
